Birds with an Attitude
Sometime ago, I was in a rut. I was in my studio everyday but everything that I made just wasn’t working out right. I would sculpt something and would end up squishing it back to a ball of clay. Whatever I had envisioned in my mind was not coming up in reality. It was quite frustrating.
I decided then that I would make a bird and not have any plans or any expectations. I would let my hands play and see what they come up with.
I made a total of 8 birds. I laughed after each one was finished because each one was so unique and had something to say.
They all now live in different homes. I hope they continue to bring laughter to their new homes just as they gave me. Here are the 6 birds that made it to their photoshoot. The two other birds were quite talkative as soon as I displayed them at the gallery downtown and they were swiftly brought home by their new owners.
