How I started and how I’m doing…
Where did January go? Somehow it just flew past me and now I find myself in the middle of February.
Birds with an Attitude
Sometime ago, I was in a rut. I was in my studio everyday but everything that I made just wasn’t working out right. I would sculpt something and would end up squishing it back to a ball of clay. Whatever I had envisioned in my mind was not coming up in reality. It was quite frustrating.
The Velveteen Rabbit
100 years ago, The Velveteen Rabbit, written by Margery Williams was originally published in 1922. It is such a timeless and beautiful story about love. I started teaching art in elementary in 2014. It was only then that I discovered this story and it has become one of my favorites.
Wild Flowers
There was a time when we let our yard run wild. These wildflowers grew and grew, so much so that birds were resting, almost hidden on their branches everywhere.
Motivation and a Sigh of Peace
This piece was inspired by a beautiful and intelligent breed. Not many people have heard of the Basenji. It’s a dog that originally came from Africa and was used to hunt large prey. And the strangest thing about it is that it doesn’t bark. Yep, you heard it right - it’s barkless!
Anticipation
When my friend, Samantha, reached out to me to commission a graduation present for her son, I got so excited. It’s been a while since I’ve created a sculptural tile.
